Join us Sunday, May 20th from 9:30 a.m.
for our
May Community Participation Day!

In addition to sprucing up our park, we've got a lot on tap:

- Learn all about compost!
- Check out our irrigation system!
- Join us at noon at the Lansdowne Pub for free appetizers (while they last)!
- And at 1 p.m. Golden Rule Honey will have an educational workshop on bees at our brand new Teaching Apiary!

So join us this Sunday in The Grove outside the Teaching Garden, and bring a friend! It's a great way to get to know your neighbors, network, learn something new, and just have an all-around good time.

This event is rain or shine (within reason). Be sure to dress for weather!

Hope to see you Sunday!

Help Us Clean Up Our Act in 2012

Effective immediately, Parks and FGS are asking gardeners to refrain from dumping building waste and other materials that will not fit inside Parks receptacles anywhere in the park.

In conjunction with Parks, we will schedule several rubbish drop-off days throughout the season where members may dispose of large non-recyclable materials and building waste in dumpsters on-site.

Thanks to all who joined us for our
2011 Community Participation Days!

Members: Don't wait! Participate!

As an ALL-VOLUNTEER organization, member participation is critical to the success of FGS's mission "to encourage the interest and cooperation of all gardeners in the Victory Gardens, represent the gardeners in all dealing with third-parties, and to teach gardeners and visitors urban gardening techniques". FGS offers year-round opportunities for involvement.

Not only can you now friend us on facebook, but you can join us on flickr, too! You can upload pics from the Victory Gardens, and comment on the pics others have taken. It's a great way to share your experience of the Gardens with the world, whether you're a member of FGS, a friend, or just passing through!

We've also rolled out a tumblr blog with more pics and year-round updates from the Gardens and messages from the board.

And the pièce de résistance: a highly interactive all-in-one page on Your Garden Show, a social networking site especially for gardeners!

So join us online! Lots of exciting ways to share your tips, stories and pics!

About Us

Situated in the heart of Boston’s Fenway neighborhood and a link in Olmsted’s Emerald Necklace, the Fenway Victory Gardens span 7 acres tended by a community of over three hundred gardeners from every neighborhood in Boston, from a diversity of backgrounds and cultures, ages, abilities and experience.

Find out more about our history here.

While one of the only remaining World War Two victory gardens, today the gardens are home not only to vegetable gardens, but to floral gardens, a community herb garden, a wheelchair Accessible Garden, and a Teaching Garden. A meadow at the gardens' center is ideal for picnics.

Become a Friend of the Fenway Victory Gardens.

There are many ways to get involved in this extraordinary community. We offer Community Participation Days, community potlucks, Open Garden Tours, and programming free and open to the public throughout the growing year.
