Our Friends Help Us Grow.
We at FGS are committed to finding ways the whole community can become involved in gardening. We are truly fortunate to have seven acres in the heart of Boston's bustling Fenway neighborhood in which to do it. And we understand that this privilege comes with a big responsibility.
We know that, the wisdom of Candide notwithstanding, we can't simply "tend our own garden". But then gardens have always been at the heart of communities, and community at the heart of gardening.
Through Friends of the Fenway Victory Gardens we offer those who may not have the time or don't live in Boston, or who enjoy the gardens and grounds as a recreational resource, from birders to sunbathers, an opportunity to support a beloved resource, assist in its upkeep, and participate as stewards of this gem on the historic Emerald Necklace.
Your Friendship not only allows us to maintain the park infrastructure, a not inconsiderable challenge in itself considering the seven acres of parkland of which we have stewardship, but assists us in developing and providing programming and events, from workshops in the Teaching Garden and regular programs in our Special Needs Discovery Garden, to Bocce in the Meadow and our yearly harvest festival, Fensfest,
which are all free and open to the public.
Friends help each other grow. We at FGS are committed to cultivating our community. Won't you join us?
Let's grow together!
